this is actually the blog I promised you last week I just seemed to have posted them in the wrong order…. well better late then never so this week is about the choices that are open to you once you receive your results.
You will have already made the decision of having a first and a n instance choice for university. and therefore it should be easy to decide what to do after you get your results. First of all it is important to see what the total overall score is and what offers it would fulfill. If your research interest has changed other unis my offer different specializations and opportunities then others and it may well be worth thinking about whether your selected course is still a fitting choice and then decide whether to turn down your first choice offer. If you have an offer and are accepted into university it is possible sometimes to defer a year though I don’t know nearly as much about the process as I should.
If nothing has changed that you will probably take either your selected first or insurance choice but for some of you you will only start because you missed your target and have to face a completely different range of choices. You can go back and resit some exams in order to pull some grades up and maybe then reapply. You can go through clearing and try and find a course you like through there. Or you decide to take a time out from school and uni maybe work or travel maybe both. We all have written blogs about what to do with clearing and I really wish noone to go through it themselves if they can help it because it can make you feel very helpless at times but I know many students still will so go have a look at our clearing blogs !
Can’t wait for my own results day 🙂
